Equine Dental Care
For the health of your horses, Rocky Mountain Equine recommends your horse receive a dental exam at least annually, and in cases of known dental pathology it may be recommended twice a year.
To complete a thorough dental exam and float, we must use a full mouth speculum and sedation. We have a fully equipped mobile power unit allowing us to perform dental floats on your farm. We can make corrections to malocclusions, re-balance the dental arcades, and address other dental conditions.
Signs your horse may need dental care:
- Dropping feed, or quidding
- Losing weight
- Going off feed, inappetence
- Excessive bit chewing or head tossing
- Facial swelling
- Unilateral nasal discharge, or foul odor from the mouth
Please give us a call today if your horse is exhibiting any of the signs of dental problems or to schedule an equine dental exam.
